Beekeeping
Apiculture has tremendous potential in Kenya. Not only are bee's crucial pollinators for agriculture but have the bonus of producing honey for the local market. The main objective is to produce honey in line with establishing a model of small business. The project will go a long way in training and nurturing beekeepers as a way of creating self-employment and improving economic status. The Foundation will focus on establishing apiculture at the local level.
Sweet Beginnings
We’re excited to share that our community-led beekeeping initiative is officially underway in Il Polei! This project represents another step forward in our mission to promote sustainable livelihoods, environmental stewardship, and local empowerment.
Thanks to the quick and enthusiastic support of the Mighty Warriors Football Club, we were able to unload and install the new beehives in just one day. Their energy, teamwork, and commitment turned what could have been a multi-day effort into a smooth, efficient operation. It’s incredible to witness how sports and service can come together to make a lasting impact.
The beekeeping initiative will provide community members with the tools and training needed to manage hives and harvest honey—creating a new source of income while also promoting the health of local ecosystems. Bees are vital pollinators, responsible for supporting biodiversity and improving the productivity of crops and native plants. Their presence enhances both food security and environmental balance, making this project about more than just honey.
